Julie's Quest

Hello, and welcome to my blog. My blog is about the trials and tribulations of writing, where we celebrate successes and commiserate our near misses. We tell it like it is here and will do our very best to help you on the road to being published and pick you up after the rejections (they will come!) Whether you are a professional or amateur writer you will find something useful here.

I hope you enjoy reading my posts and will visit again soon.

Happy Writing

Another rejection!

It came through my letter box this morning! From People's Friend Children's Corner (sulks) Mind you they do say no in such a lovely way! I still have 20 short stories out there - with more to follow next week.

Thanks for popping by - glad to see you're keeping busy - 20!!!
I'm just trying to do regular little things like the 'scenes' - as I'm thinking most of my time between now and Xmas will be Strictlyfied!

Hi Julie,
Sorry to note you have had a rejection. I suppose it is a bit of a consolation that they said 'no' in such a lovely way.
I wish you well in your ongoing quests in the wonderful world of writing.
Thank you for your comments on my blog. Very much appreciated. 'Penny' sends her best wishes:-)
Kind regards, Gary

I think my collection of rejection slips sometimes reads better than the material I'm submitting. It's a fascinating trawl of varied tones, moods and ways of saying no. Keep going! Sounds like there's plenty more potential for success ...

Sorry to hear about the rejection, Julie. xx Have a big glass of wine and a bar of chocolate, and write another story ASAP. How lovely that you've still got 20 submissions out. They're the ones to be thinking about!

Thanks, Rob. The first article on Writing courses will be in the Dec/Jan issue we think. I haven't heard back from the editor on the one I sent recently about intimidation so I'm crossing everything and touching wood! I hate the waiting! It makes me nervous.

Hi, Gary, and thanks for your support. That's the thing about blogland - I always know where I can come for a bit of TLC and to give it too where needed.

I dohope 'Penny' is keeping well!

Ta, Fran, I love the many different ways magazines can say no! They are like Eskimos or Inuits - just as they have many words for snow, editors have many words for no!

Thanks, Olivia.

I do love little Noah - he's sooooo sweet. I will indeed have some chocolate at the weekend but I'm not a drinker really (although sometimes I think I should be!!)

I am still writing while I'm waiting and still have a pile of rejected stories I have to get round to re-editing and send out again. It never stops! But I wouldn't want it any other way.

Have a great weekend

Hugs, Julie. But 20 still out there is very impressive - will keep fingers crossed for them.
