Hello, and welcome to my blog. My blog is about the trials and tribulations of writing, where we celebrate successes and commiserate our near misses. We tell it like it is here and will do our very best to help you on the road to being published and pick you up after the rejections (they will come!)Writing can be a long, hard and frustrating journey, but one we must travel if we want to be published writers.

A Special Offer!

Have a look over on children's author Carole Anne Carr's blog for an offer involving freelance editor Neil Fein. I first met Carole at my local writing group and then I interviewed her for an article. She is a prolific writer of children's books and was fortunate to meet Neil and they have forged a partnership together through Neil editing some of Carole's books.

About Julie Phillips

Julie Phillips is a freelance writer and has had short stories published in women's magazines both in the UK and Australia. She has also had many articles published in magazines & newspapers such as The Shropshire Star, Writers' Forum, Writing Magazine, Writers' News, The New Writer, This England and Shropshire Life.

Julie lives in Shropshire with her husband, daughter and two mad cats. In her spare time, when she isn't writing, she is a teaching assistant in a primary school, an assistant scout leader and a school governor. She also enjoys the Shropshire Countryside, writing, and working with children.

When she isn't writing articles and short stories she works on three novels: two for young adults in the adventure genre and one for younger children.
